Steve Bruce leaves Newcastle

 Newcastle United have announced that Steve Bruce has left the club by mutual consent following the 3-2 home defeat against Tottenham at the weekend.

A couple of weeks ago Newcastle were controversially bought over by a Saudi-led consortium, with the club subsequently becoming one of the richest in the world.

Financially at least, the club will now be able to compete with anyone in Europe and as such, they have been linked with a flurry of new players and managers.

Following the takeover, the new ownership stated they would undertake an evaluation of every aspect of the club, including the manager's performance, before deciding on Bruce's future.
