Osimhen, Omeruo and other Super Eagles stars survive earthquake scare in Turkey

 


The 25-year-old recently joined the likes of Kenneth Omeruo, Bright Osayi and others in the Turkish Super League.

More than 20 Nigerian football players, including eight Super Eagles players, currently play in Turkey.

However, they recently encountered a natural disaster that hit the country in the hours of Wednesday morning.

Galatasaray have released a statement about the recent earthquake that happened in the country.

The statement was posted on X, which reads, “We hope that the earthquake, whose epicenter was in the Kale district of Malatya, will not cause any loss of life or property, and we convey our get well wishes to all our citizens affected by the tremor.”

On Wednesday morning, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 struck Turkey's eastern region.

According to Turkish authorities, the earthquake struck Malatya province at 10:46 a.m. local time and partially collapsed several structures, although no injuries have been reported as of yet.

Although authorities have closed schools as a precaution, thankfully, no casualties have been recorded.

Parts of Syria and numerous Turkish districts, including Diyarbakir and Elazig, were also affected by the tremor.
