Osimhen, Oshoala make 2023 Globe Soccer Award Final Shortlists



Nigeria football stars Victor Osimhen and Asisat Oshoala have made the final shortlists for the 2023 Globe Soccer Awards.

simhen and Oshoala were included in the final shortlists in the men and women categories respectively which was announced by the organizers on their X Tuesday, 12 December 2023.




Osimhen will contest this year’s award with Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham and Erling Haaland in the final 11.


Also, other top football stars in the final shortlist include Kevin De Bruyne, Mohamed Salah, Karim Benzema, Vinicius Junior and Bernardo Silva.

In the women’s category, Oshoala is among the 10 finalists shortlisted for the award.

The Super Falcons and Barcelona striker picked up her sixth CAF women’s Player of the Year award.

Meanwhile, among other categories are Best Emerging Player, Best Goalkeeper, Best Midfielder, Best Coach, Best Club (men and women), Fans Favourite Player, Best Agent and Best Club President.

Winners in all the different categories will be announced during the live broadcast of the Globe Soccer Awards gala on 19 January 2024, in Dubai.

The Globe Soccer Awards is organized by Globe Soccer and involves participation from international football organizations such as FIFA, UEFA, ECA, and major clubs in an annual event held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Former France and Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema is the current holder of the award.

Also, Portugal and Madrid legend Cristina Ronaldo has won the award six times, the highest by an individual.
