Ademola Lookman hits another landmark in Atalanta’s final Serie A game of 2023-24

The forward reached a new high for La Dea as their campaign concluded at the Gewiss Stadium on Sunday.

Ademola Lookman can do no wrong at the moment, and the forward found the back of the net in Atalanta’s final game of the Serie A season.

Atalanta vs Fiorentina

Sunday’s match against Fiorentina at the Gewiss Stadium was a rescheduled gameweek 29 fixture that was moved because La Viola director Joe Barone took ill before kickoff and the match was postponed. Barone passed on days later.

La Dea’s progress to the Europa League final and Fiorentina advancing to the Conference League decider meant the game could not be played before the regular season’s culmination.

Sunday’s match ended in a 3-2 defeat for Atalanta, although it did not move the needle regarding their final position, even if victory would have seen the Bergamo outfit finish ahead of Juventus

What feat did Ademola Lookman achieve?

Lookman’s 11th goal of the season had seen him bring Gian Piero Gasperini's men level, and he set up Giorgio Scalvini for Atalanta's second leveller after Nicolas Gonzalez put Fiorentina 2-1 up, only for Andrea Belotti to score just before the interlude.

The Nigerian ended the 2023-24 season with 10 of his 11 Serie A strikes at the Gewiss Stadium, making him the player with the most goals scored in home matches.
