England’s style of play at the 2024 European Championship has been labelled as boring, but it has never been as clear as against Slovenia, when the Three Lions literally put a fan to sleep.

England and Slovenia play out bore draw

As with all other games in Group C, England were dour against Slovenia, even as they earned the point they needed to end as group winners and qualify for the second round.

The Three Lions played out a 0-0 draw against Slovenia, their second stalemate in a row after also playing out a 1-1 draw against Denmark in their previous match.

A 1-0 win in their opening game against Serbia thanks to an early Jude Bellingham goal is the only thing that stood between the Three Lions and other teams in the group as they finished on five points, while Denmark and Slovenia finished on three points each and join England in the round of 16.

England bore fan to sleep

Despite their relative success, England have been accused of playing a brand of football that is an eyesore to watch, especially considering the quality of players on the team, with pundits and ex-players lamenting the state of the Three Lions at the 2024 Euros.

The lack of excitement in England’s match against Slovenia got so bad, that a Three Lions fan was seen sleeping during the 0-0 draw as the match dragged on towards a stalemate.

The Three Lions will not let the feelings of their detractors or sleeping fans get to them however, as they now stand a good chance of going all the way to win the Euros having been placed in the easier side of the draw by topping their group.
