Egypt head coach Hossam Hassan has blamed controversial refereeing decisions for his team’s defeat to Argentina,
The Pharaohs crashed out of the FIFA World Cup 2026 after a thrilling 3-2 defeat to Lionel Scaloni’s side.
Argentina, however, staged a remarkable late fightback, scoring three unanswered goals to seal victory.
Hassan Questions Standard Of Officiating
Despite the dramatic collapse, Hassan maintained that Egypt were the better team.
“I’m going home and won’t be watching any more games from the tournament,” Hassan told reporters after the match.
“What happened to us wasn’t fair. We should have had a penalty, a goal was disallowed, and I don’t know why it was disallowed.”
