World Cup 2026: Spain Sweep Major Individual Awards

 

Spain further highlighted their dominance at the FIFA World Cup 2026 by claiming three of the tournament’s major individual awards.

Barcelona youngster Pau Cubarsi was named the Best Young Player after producing a series of impressive performances at the heart of La Roja’s defence.

The central defender was ever-present throughout their run to the final against Argentina.

Spain captain Rodri, who won the Ballon d’Or two years earlier, received the Golden Ball as the tournament’s best player, while Unai Simon claimed the Golden Glove award.

Simon was outstanding between the posts, conceding just once in the team’s eight matches on their way to lifting the trophy.

France captain Kylian Mbappe won the Golden Boot after finishing as the tournament’s leading scorer with 10 goals.

The forward also became the World Cup’s all-time highest scorer, taking his overall tally in the competition to 22 goals
