NO DEAL Manchester United transfer blow as Napoli get ready to offer Elseid Hysaj a new contract
Red Devils set to miss out on the Albanian right-back as he looks like renewing his current deal with the Serie A club
Manchester United look set to miss out on one of their defensive targets as Napoli get ready to open contract talks with Elseid Hysaj, according to his agent.
The Albania international is on the Old Trafford club’s radar as they attempt to find a long-term replacement for 33-year-old Antonio Valencia.
Napoli right-back Elseid Hysaj attempts to tackle an opponent.
The 24-year-old has emerged as one of Serie A’s best
full-backs since arriving from Empoli back in 2015 and he has racked up
118 league outings for Napoli.
Hysaj penned a four-and-a-half-year deal back in October 2016 so there is still more than two years left to run on that.
But, amid interest from clubs such as Manchester United,
Napoli are hoping to convince Hysaj to further commit himself to the
club by penning fresh terms.
Speaking at the Italian Sport Awards, his agent Mario Giuffredi said: “We’ve been talking to Napoli for some time.
