Teslim Balogun Stadium May Host Super Eagles Vs Seychelles Clash
Impressed by Super Eagles continuous change of fortune in African football, Lagos State government is leaving no stone unturned to ensure Super Eagles host Seychelles at newly refurbished Teslim Balogun Stadium in March next year.
In an exclusive chat with Completesportsnigeria.com recently, senior special assistant to Lagos State governor, Mr Adeboye Adeyinka said the state is determined to ensure Super Eagles return to it’s righful home,adding that a newly regrass and refurbished Teslim Balogun Stadium will be
Super Eagles qualified for Cameroon 2019 AFCON after a 1-1 draw against Bafana Bafana of South Africa on Saturday, thus making it’s final home game a formality clash.
But Mr. Adeboye who also double as chairman of Smart FC of Lagos is optimistic of luring Super Eagles back to it’s old nest which was tagged as slaughter house of the national team.
“Lagos State government is not relenting in it’s effort to restore our sporting facilities back to it’s rightful place. More importantly, the state government has once again reiterated it’s on going efforts to lure Super Eagles back to Lagos, which used to be it rightful home in the past.
” As you can see, work is going on in all the stadia in the state. While Onikan will be completed by January with a modern day asro turf, a full grass Teslim Balogun stadium will be ready by next March.
” Lagos is the home of Eagles and the state government want the team back in Lagos come next year,” he said
Nigeria host Seychelles next March.
