Musa Extends Goal Drought To 4 Games; Esiti Starts; Akpeyi Concedes 16th Goal ln PSL

Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa extended his goal drought to four league games in the Saudi Arabian League on Friday when he featured in Al Nassr Riyadh’s 2-1 win away at Al-Ittihad Jeddah reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Abderazak Hamed-Allah scored in each half to hand AL Nasr Riyadh a win despite the hosts drawing level five minutes into the second half through Fahad Al Muwallad.
The game was Musa’s 12th league game of the campaign.
Musa,26, has scored five times this season with his last goal coming against FC Shabab in November 23rd.
In Belgium, Anderson Esiti made his 80th appearance (13th league start of the season) for KAA Gent who trashed Cercle Brugge 4-1 on Friday at the Ghelamco Arena.
Goals from Brecht Dejaegere (17′), Sigurd Rosted (34′), Jonathan David (51′) and Vadis Odjidja (64′) gave KAA Gent a 4-0 lead before Serge Gakpe scored a consolatory goal for Cercle Brugge with five minutes left to play.
The 24 year old Nigerian international was subbed off in the 60th minute of the win.
He was replaced by Birger Verstraete.
His compatriot, Taiwo Awoniyi was an unused substitute in the win.
Gent are now fifth in the Belgian Pro Division league pending other games this weekend.
In the South Africa ABSA Premier League, Nigeria’s third choice goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi was denied a sixth clean sheet of the in Chippa United’s 2-0 loss away to Bidvest Wits.
Akpeyi has made 15 starts this season conceding 16 goals. The 32 year old has kept five clean sheets with his last against Maritzburg United.
