Umar Set For Perugia Loan Switch From Roma
Nigeria forward, Sadiq Umar, will head to Italian Serie B side, AC Perugia on loan next month upon his return from his difficult spell with Scottish outfit, Glasgow Rangers
Umar, 21, linked up with Rangers on a one-year loan deal at the beginning of the season from Italian side, AS Roma, but has struggled for regular playing time at the club.
He has made just five appearances for the Light Blues and has failed to start a Scottish Premier League game during a terrible five months.
The Scottish Sun reported last week that Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard
has given the green light for Umar to leave Ibrox, even with three weeks before the transfer window opens for him to land a replacement.
According to a report in the Italian media, Roma and Perugia have reached an agreement for the forward’s loan move to the latter with the last few details to be sorted out.
Umar could also have his medical on Tuesday, while the move will be official as soon as the transfer window reopens in January.
The forward linked up with with Roma from another Italian club, Spezia in 2016 for a fee around £2m and scored two goals from six Serie A appearances in his first season at the club.
Umar has also enjoyed loan spells at Bologna, Torino and Dutch club, NAC Breda.
