Hazard Strikes Twice As Chelsea Beat West Ham 2-0

Eden Hazard scored twice as Chelsea beat West Ham 2-0 on Monday to climb above Tottenham and Arsenal into third spot in the race for a Champions League place in the Premier League 

Hazard, who has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer, evaded five players before Belgian forward calmly beat keeper Lukasz Fabianski.

He added a late second goal to cap a magnificent individual performance in an entertaining game.

The strike took his tally to 16 in the EPL this season equaling his best ever finish in the league during the 2016/2017 season.

Chelsea, who can still qualify for next season’s Champions League by winning the Europa League, are three points ahead of fifth-placed Arsenal, who have a game in hand, after a third successive league win.

West Ham remains 11th after a third defeat in four league games.

The Blues face Slavia Prague in the Europa League quarter-final first leg on Thursday while West Ham are away at Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday.
