Where Newcastle United stand in the newly-released Premier League fair play table
The Premier League Fair Play table is out and according to the official
statistics from the FA, the Magpies are among the better behaved sides
in the top flight.
United have had two red cards this season - Isaac Hayden at Cardiff and DeAndre Yedlin against Wolves - while they've only had one player sent off against them this season. Tommy Smith of Huddersfield got his marching orders earlier this year.
Liverpool are top of the table while Manchester City, are predictably sitting top with near perfect disciplinary records - the Reds with not a single immediate sending off all campaign and City with just under 40 yellows.
Each yellow card is worth four points, with a second yellow worth ten points along with denial of a goal scoring opportunity. Violent conduct, serious foul play, spitting, or offensive and abusive language is worth 12 points.
Only Chelsea can boast of not having a single player sent off all season, immediate or otherwise, while the team who can be proud of the least bookings all season is current league leaders Liverpool - with just 42 all campaign.
