LP, PDP, APC party chairmen exchange smiles as Supreme Court delivers verdict
Chairmen of top political parties share smiles as they battle in court.
The political atmosphere in Nigeria reached a fever pitch as the chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Labour Party (LP), and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abdullahi Ganduje, Julius Abure, and Umar Damagum respectively, congregated at the Supreme Court this morning.
Pleasantries were exchanged as they awaited the apex court’s judgment regarding the appeals of the LP and PDP presidential candidates, Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar, against the election of the APC candidate, President Bola Tinubu.
Accompanying the party leaders were prominent figures, including the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu. Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate, was represented by his lead counsel, Chris Uche SAN.
Recall that the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal had dismissed the petitions filed by Atiku and Obi, ruling that they failed to prove their allegations of electoral irregularities and malpractice
