Agu: Benin, Rwanda Can’t Stop Eagles From Qualifying For 2025 AFCON

Former Nigerian international Alloy Agu says he’s optimistic the Super Eagles will qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Recall that Nigeria has been grouped alongside the Benin Republic, Rwanda, and Libya.

The qualifying matches will be played over the FIFA windows of September, October, and November this year.

However, in a chat with Completesports.com, Agu stated that Benin and Rwanda are familiar foes that won’t pose any strong threat to the team.

He also advised the players to approach the game with a positive mindset.

“On paper, the group looks very fair to the Super Eagles, but then, football is always played on the pitch and not by mouth. But I am confident the Super Eagles will qualify for AFON 2025.’

“Yes, Benin and Rwanda are two teams Nigeria is battling with in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, and we have seen the result against Benin.

“However, the Super Eagles must approach the game well and not underestimate any team in Group D.”
