Harry Maguire returned for Manchester United to face Norwich at Old Trafford after making a quicker-than-expected recovery from a hip injury.
Anthony Martial also returned to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's starting line-up but Jesse Lingard was missing due to illness.
Norwich, who were without top scorer Teemu Pukki, handed a full Premier League debut to 18-year-old Adam Idah following his FA Cup hat-trick against Preston last week. Josip Drmic was out with a thigh problem.
